Mobile Clinic

Mobile Clinic Initiative: Bringing Essential Healthcare Closer to the Community

Access to health services is a fundamental right that should be guaranteed for every member of society, regardless of geographical location or socioeconomic background. Yet for many individuals living in remote or hard-to-reach areas, permanent healthcare facilities remain distant and often inaccessible. To bridge this gap, the Mobile Clinic concept emerges as a practical and innovative solution—bringing essential medical services directly to the community through a fully equipped clinical vehicle.

Purpose and Objectives

The Mobile Clinic is designed with a clear mission:

  1. To deliver basic health services to areas underserved by permanent medical facilities, ensuring that no community is left behind.

  2. To provide mobile general check-ups, minor medical treatments, and essential health education, empowering residents with the knowledge and care they need to maintain their well-being.

Service Profile

Each Mobile Clinic unit is engineered as a self-contained, traveling healthcare center. A specially modified vehicle serves as the main operational hub, fitted with standard medical equipment capable of supporting primary healthcare services. The unit is operated by a dedicated team consisting of one driver, one general practitioner and/or one nurse, and is supported by a simple yet efficient electronic medical record system to ensure continuity of patient care.

Operational Plan

To maximize accessibility and efficiency, Mobile Clinic services will operate through a structured and predictable system:

  1. Scheduled visit rotations to homes and villas within designated service areas.

  2. Operational hours set at five working days per week (Monday–Friday).

  3. A variety of on-site healthcare services, including:

    • General medical check-ups

    • Minor wound care

    • Blood pressure assessment

    • Blood glucose screening

    • Preventive health education and counseling

This approach ensures consistency, reliability, and responsive care tailored to community needs.

Equipment Requirements and Investment Estimate

To support one fully operational General Mobile Clinic unit—staffed by one doctor and one nurse—an initial investment in medical equipment and logistics is required. Based on preliminary planning and specifications outlined in the accompanying table (Excel file), the estimated total investment ranges from IDR 23,530,000 to IDR 30,000,000, depending on the brand and quality of the medical tools selected.
