EFATA Seventh-Day Adventist Church
A brief history of EFATA SDA Church by elder Taripar Aritonang:
The story of the Efata Seventh-day Adventist Church traces its roots to a humble fellowship once known as the Ebenheizer Bible Study Group, a small circle nurtured under the guidance of the Surapati Adventist Church. Beginning in 2007, this group met faithfully from home to home, gathering around twenty earnest believers under the pastoral care of Pr. Milton Simatupang, S.Th.
Guided by the gracious hand of Jesus Christ, the Ebenheizer Bible Study Group blossomed. In early 2008, it was officially inaugurated as the Sesetan Sabbath School Branch, consisting of approximately twenty-five members under the coordination of Pr. Fernando Manurung, S.Th. As the spiritual life and unity of its members deepened, a new milestone was reached. On June 26, 2010, the Sesetan Sabbath School Branch was formally organized as a full church body with thirty committed members. This important step was taken under the leadership of Pr. Sosor Manik, S.Th., with Pr. Panca Rury Karsum, S.Th., providing coordination.
Over the years, the church was lovingly shepherded by a succession of devoted pastors: Pr. Abri Santoso, S.Th. (coordinated by Pr. Fernando Manurung, S.Th.); Pr. Sosor Manik, S.Th. (coordinated by Pr. Panca Rury Karsum, S.Th.); followed by Pr. Budi Solichin, S.Th. (coordinated by Pr. Rafael Polimpung, S.Th.); and once again by Pr. Budi Solichin, S.Th. Today, the congregation is under the care and leadership of Pr. Edo F. A. Tarigan, who now shepherds a growing community of 66 members.
As we look to the future, our hearts carry a deep longing: to establish a permanent house of worship and church-owned land, so that we may no longer depend on rented facilities year after year. With sincere hope and prayer, we invite our brothers and sisters who feel moved by God to support us in bringing this cherished dream to life.
